WASHINGTON ALL MISSION ACADEMY

12-14 APRIL 2019

Camp Robert L. Boucher, Ephrata WA

We are counting on the weather at Ephrata to warm up for the April WAMA. Most of our classes will be held outdoors or at least partially so. Come prepared to be outside and enjoy the spring weather-Saturday's predicted to be 68 degrees!

Training this weekend will be offered in 6 areas: Principles of Flight (open to all cadets and AEOs), Ground Team Signalling)(open to all members meeting the prerequisites), Flight Line Marshalling for all who meet the prerequisites, sUAS Mission Pilot (separate signup), Cadet Activity Planning (C/TSgt and above) and WAMA 101 for those new to WAMA. Free time is available on Saturday evening to network, play games, or do homework. Here are the details:

AE- PRINCIPLES OF FLIGHT

This class will cover both Principles of Flight and Aircraft Systems (Modules 1 and 2). Students will work with model and Radio Controlled aircraft STEM Kits and travel to Moses Lake to fly the aircraft at the RC park there. Physics and history of flight will be covered and students will also be given an opportunity for a powered O'flight, weather permitting. Curry Award is the only prerequisite.

ES - FLIGHT LINE MARSHALLER

The Flight Line Marshaller course is open to both Seniors and Cadets that have the minimum of a basic GES rating as documented on their CAPf 101 card. Those attending shall present a paper copy of their SQTR (from eServices) for Flight Line Marshaller, with the endorsements of their unit commander for the training “prerequisites, familiarization and preparatory training” as indicated on the SQTR. The SQTR with the commander’s endorsement is mandatory. Students shall also bring and wear a safety vest; orange is the preferred color. Students must complete the CAP On-line Aircraft Handling course.

ES - GROUND TEAM – Ground to Air Signaling

The Ground to Air Signaling course is open to both Seniors and Cadets that have the minimum of a basic GES rating as documented on their CAPf 101 card. Those attending shall present a paper copy of their SQTR (from eServices) for Ground Team Member level 3, with the endorsements of their unit commander for the training “prerequisites, familiarization and preparatory training” as indicated on the SQTR. The SQTR with the commander’s endorsement is mandatory. Students shall also bring and wear a safety vest; orange is the preferred color. The team will be operating in the field away from the WAMA base. A field pack is NOT mandatory, however it is optional.

OPS - sUAS/MP

There will be a course for the sUAV mission pilots. This course is not open to everyone at this time. The Wing has to produce five mission ready teams this summer, and selecting the cadre is the best way to ensure we get a dedicated group. Later we will do the same training open to everyone, and this will include AE along with ES students. If you are interested in this training, please contact Capt Carl Wiley directly at carl.wiley@wawg.cap.gov . Only those pre-selected will be able to attend at this time.

CP - NCO School

The cadet NCO core is the backbone of what makes a squadron meeting run smoothly and effectively. This course allows up and coming NCOs to hone their skills with marching a flight and allows for a chance to gain experience in leadership positions. In addition to marching practice, students will also be given instruction over invaluable lessons that will help them succeed in the cadet program Students must be between the grades of C/SrA and C/CMSgt in order to attend this course.

WAMA 101

This class is an introduction to WAMA for members (cadets and seniors) who would like to experience all areas of the academy. It will include an introduction to Emergency Services, Aerospace Education, and Cadet Programs by accomplishing hands on activities. Students will become familiar with the history of the Ephrata Army Air Base and WAMA, as well as participate in O’flights (weather permitting). Class is limited to 8 students.
